I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I've been getting some voltage drop when I roll down the windows on my truck. I have already done the 3g swap and I know it seems like a bad voltage regulator but its new and so are the brushes. I know the battery is good because I test it every so often to see where its at. I have 2g wire running down to the starter and 0g from the battery to alt. The smallest wire is the ground which is the stock one with no bare wire showing or anything. Could that small ground be my problem, or would adding a ground wire to the body of the alternator help?
I'd imagine it is just the harness going to the cab or from the ignition switch to the fuseblock if it is wired that way.
Electric window motors draw substantial current and if the window runs or regulator arms are sticky they will draw even more.
Where do you think your voltmeter is getting it's reading from?
Do you see any drop at the battery while running the window up and down?
Check the braided cab grounds from the pinch welds below the door sill to the cab support of the frame by the foot box.
these get corroded all the time.
