I see its your first couple of post....

Welcome to the site!!!

I think the lack of replies are easily explained.

You are not really asking a question.

It looks as if you are just making a statement.

Most people just let those type post slide by.

We can assume (bad thing) you are interested if anyone else has a similar issue and what the problem might be.

To help us... help you... we kinda need to know what you are driving.

# of miles, year and model, ect.

Were you able to pull a DTC? Some of the Auto supply houses will do it for free.

What part of the country are you from?

The red brake warning light on the dash, the one that comes on when you leave the e-brake on, comes on after about 1 km . The mech didn't know the cause so he phoned the dealer. They said it "could" be the ABS module (1400$). Has anyone had a similar problem. The ABS light does not come on and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the brakes. HELP PLEASE!

start with the basics.

the last time that happened to me the brake fluid was low. but it could also be a faulty switch at the master cylinder.

also check the switch for the parking brake. see if you can get it to go on and off by playing with the pedal position and or the switch itself. this seems somewhat likely, as if you exceed 3mph with the parking brake on, the dash cluster chimes and displays "parking brake engaged" ... so if it was the switch for the brake, you should get the warning on the display.

not very many systems turn the brake light on. the ABS has it's own warning light, so i wouldn't expect the two to be interconnected. regardless, hey should be able to talk to the ABS system through the ODB port and pull any fault codes related to the ABS.

good luck, and welcome to the forum!

This was just happening in my wife's 2012 town and country turned out brake fluid was low, we just got in like a month ago and the dealer put new brakes on they must have let the fluid come back up and drip out and not refilled it (hacks). Anyway I would check the fluid and make sure the e-brake is released or push the e-brake then release again. Good luck.

Welcome to the forum, riotstick! I'm the resident Ford Canada cusomer service representative. I can investiage this further with more information from you. When were you last at the dealership for this? Please let me know, and also send along an up-to-date odometer reading as well.

Thanks for the information, riotstick. Sounds like it's time to get this escalated to the regional customer service manager for your area, who'll work with you and your local Ford dealer to reach the best resolution. To get started, I'll need a private message from you with the full name of the registered owner, VIN, servicing dealership, and best daytime contact number.

I'll be on the lookout for your message!

thanks, but if I had the where-with-all to pay a dealership to investigate a random dash light malfunction, I wouldn't be on here, looking for advice.

Maybe you need to find a "better" mechanic (i.e., technician).

Who's going to do the final diagnosis and repair of this problem?
You?
Or the mechanic?

Since the problem does not seem to interfere with the operation of the truck, I'll have a quandary until it's fixed
