Hi there. I am trying to find a working CD Player for my 98 Mazda B4000. I would love to get the 6 CD In-Dash Player but just to order those from the manufacturer is almost 600 dollars. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I too have a 1998 B4000 pickup with a bad CD player.
I decided that instead of replacing the CD player, I would put in a CD changer. I purchased a JVC CH-X1500RF. It’s a 12 CD changer that broadcast on FM. It can play MP3 burned onto Cdr.’s. I currently have about 6 gig worth of music burned onto 9 CD’s. I love Jazz, and don't have a good Jazz station here to listen too. Now I can have constant uninterrupted music playing as I cruse.
I decided to go this route, because it would cost just as much or more to get an in dash radio/CD changer. I found this on line for $170 + shipping.
I had it installed in a couple of hours time.
If you just want to replace the radio/CD player, you might want to check out this site: www.mazda-utomotive.com/. If you can't find what you are looking for there, they do have a pay service that will search the country for you. It costs $5.95/item being searched for.
I like jzlvr1's idea, aftermarket stereo equipment is the way to go. You won't have near as many problems with a deck or changer from Kenwood, Pioneer etc... I've had good luck with panasonic equipment too... and it'll cost way less, even proffessionally installed..
