it's too bloody expensive to get that stuff, especially up here in Canada, from Clifford, for cheaper, I got more power and torque, and a quiter engine, and don't give me the BS of, well my engine has 7 mains... obviously the 300 I6 has some problems especially the newer engines, lifter problems and such, I have never really heard that with the V8's, so I'd rather go with an engine that "I" trust than one that IMHO is a peice of crap
Originally posted by i_alone I had to slightly modify the drivers side frame stand a slight bit, there was one rivit that I didn't want to cut off, and it was right on the end of the stand so I ground that little peice out,
the frame stands themself were fairly easy with exception of that one corner, just unbolt the old 6 cyl stands and bolt in the 8,
I just found a '73' F100 Parts truck that has a 302/C4.
Would the '73's V8 Frame Stands work in my 87 F150 ???
Originally posted by i_alone no, you need 80-96 frame stands to work with your truck, the 70's frame stands were different because they used different frames
****!
Anyone have a set of 80-96 V8 Frame Stands For Sale ??
Originally posted by i_alone lol, sounds good, like I said it's pretty straight forward, just remember to get the 351w computer and wiring harness, other than that you are set
you guys make me want to cry. the 300 was, is, and always will be the best engine ford ever made. belive me the 7 mains sure do feel better then 4 or 5 i have no questions about flooring my engine and redlineing it for 10-15 seconds, ohter than that i would agree if your set on gettign rid of the 300 i would go with the 351w you cant really tell the diff in power wiht the 302 and its just not worth the mess
Stick 300, but for sure if you do do the swap go 351, you'll probably notice a LOSS of driveability if you drop in a 302 (since torque it haveth not). All and all a 351 and a 300 are pretty close , it's just you get a little more power a little higher up in the band with the 351, you will notice that it'll be easier to tow at highway speeds with a 351, but easier to tow around town with a 300 an a 300 will be more driveable with a higher rearend, a 351 more so with a lower rear end.
i-alone. Your photos have been a big help.I have a 351M/C6/NP205 unit out of a 1979 BRONCO I want to fit in my 1980 BRONCO. Down here in New Zealand BRONCO parts are hard to get. Can you tell me where in the U.S.A I can get CHASSIS purchases to carry the 351 mount.
ok, you have an 80 Bronco with I'm guessing a 6 in it, you can get them from any 80-96 Bronco/F-series truck, as for buying them noew, I'm not too sure who around here that does that
