oil pan replacement
I'm going to have to replace the oil pan on an 89F250, 351 (Windsor, I guess? - it's the original engine). I realize that I'll have to lift the engine for clearance, just wondering if any of you have gone through this proceedure and have any words of advice....any help would be appreciated. Also, how much should I be spending for a replacement pan, and where is the best source?

if that is 4x4 you might have to pull the motor depending upon if it has a deep sump oil pan. sometimes on 4 wheel drive the 351w has a six qt oil pan and it will not clear the oil pump pickup tube. if it were me I would call around the junkyards. you might find one already pulled off and pick it up for around 20-25 dollars. if your wanting a new one check out jc whitney they have chrome oil pans for 50.00. you can order it online from J.C. whitney and have it 7 to 10 days or you can even get overnite shipment

I just pulled the pan from my 92 351w bronco 4x4..
You will have to jack engine up..make sure you block it..because you will have to stick you hand in pan ..once it is unbolted..and remove the oil pump and pickup tube to get the pan out...once pump and tube are unbolted..my pan slid right out...and it is a 6qt plus filter..also you might have to remove your down pipes from manifolds..if the drivers side crosses under the pan..
I cheated..I cut mine ..then welded a new piece of pipe in
Didnt want to break the manifold bolts
