2015 MKC thoughts

So we were shopping this weekend. Test drove the MKX and they are priced too high for used.

Then we decided to look new and see what they had. Better half didn't like any of the colors on the lot.

We then sat in the MKC. That is the one that is just out with the commercials.

We didn't drive it but we did sign up for what is called something like an extended test drive.

You get the car for 48 hours plus a $100 gift card for a dinner for two.

So they have one in the color of Sand. Very good color.

Anyone looked at these?

For those that might be watching this thread. We went the other day and looked some more at this model.

We then went and test drove one up in PA. According to their website (dealers) they had a bunch in stock. Turns out they only had one. A all black one.

So we went to Gaithersburg, MD dealer who we knew had a bunch of them. Picked the one we liked and drove it..It came home with us.

So me and the bank are now co-owners.

For anyone who is watching this thread I thought I would report back now that we have had it a few days.

So far at 324 miles we are at 27.5 mpg which is fantastic considering going to Fairfax, VA Via the DC beltway this morning in heavy commute traffic.

I was also under the suv today to check it all out. Pretty impressed there as well. Big portions of the underside were undercoated. Most of that has stopped now. They just seem to dip the bodys now.

So I did do some undercoating but not much was needed.

That park assist for parallel parking is a neat option. Some of the salepeople don't like it. But I works well and is just a quick as doing it myself.

I think my neighbor wants to buy one now.

Thanks!

We are loving it.

Neighbor last night was just about to drop over it. She is looking to get rid of her import SUV that drinks gas like you wouldn't believe.

Really liking this one. One of my co-worker's parents are looking at it. They wanted something more refined than the Escape, so they were leaning towards the Buick Encore. But now they are heavily leaning towards this after their test drives.

This rides better than the Encore. Looks better too. We were thinking the same.

Ran a full tank of fuel now. 24.3 mpgs.

Not bad considering the better half was traveling during rush hour through DC to VA.

We are going to Oklahoma at the end of the month so we will see how she does on the open road.

Here's something interesting...V rated Pirelli's

Based upon the miles we have driven so far, get the 2.3 liter over the 2.0.

285 ponies and the return fuel mileage seems pretty good.

That park assist for parallel parking is pretty neat and works well too.

I really don't have a good picture right now. The gear selector is all buttons on the dash. Left side of the information screen for the sync system.

Thanks! I was wondering cause I had seen some pictures of the missing shifter handle before. How sensitive are the buttons?

This last picture you can kind of see the buttons on the side of the dash. Sorry pictures are not too good. I can get better ones tomorrow. Better half is out right now at a business function.

But P is at the top for Park.

Then R, N, D, S and lowest one is start/stop.

No keys. Have the remote in the pocket. Step on the brake and start the car.
