Lifting the 86

I'm thinking about the rough country 4 in. lift, but 6 in. is only about $40 more. Whatta you guys think. Things that I'm worried about is my U-joints and my 3.08 axles, because I'll diffently go with 35's for tires and if I change gear ratios I'll want to put in cheap decent electic or cable lockers. I was also wondering if I could pull off the 3.08's with my granny 1st without stressing the clutch out with the big tires (considering it has the orignal clutch and my uncle use to pull a big trailer full of about 8 1200 lbs cattle for a bout 14 years.) There's about a 72 F-150 with a factory straight front axle that I could stick under my truck for easier lifting if I do it myself. I could also take the 9 in. rearend and then the gear ratios would match for sure. I only have the 8.8 rearend in my truck now. I'm assuming that those gears are higher in the older truck, so those should handle the bigger tires. I'll also have to mount up the stabilizing bars for the straight axle. So whats easier all different axles and a custom lift or just buy the lift kit for about $510 for the 4in. or $550 6in. The 4in. comes with a stearing stabalizer, but both come with shocks. By the way I own a 86 F-150 4x4, 300, 4 spd.
