i have a 08 f350 that has started to act up. yesterday when i went to leave the house my batteries were dead after sitting in the driveway for an hour. i charged the batteries this morning. started the truck all was good, when i left the house my abs light came on and then off. at the end of the block all my guages and dash lights went out including the radio. when i stepped on the brake they came back on, released the brake and they went out again, after doing this a few times the dash went out and battery light came on, when stepping on the brake they came on normal again. returning home after going around the block i shut the truck down checked fuses and all are good.
any help would be great as i have never seen this before
thanks
My guess would be batteries have met their life expectancy....How old are they? Original ones that came in truck? These trucks do all sorts of strange things when batteries can't hold full capacity.
If batteries are fairly new....next guess would be your alternator kicked the bucket.
You can have batteries and alternator load tested at a local shop.
On a side note...My dash would turn on and off now and then and Ford ended up replacing instrument cluster under warranty a few years back.
