fuel system

I have an 85 f350 I am removing the front tank. Can I just hard line the reartank or do I have to go thru the tank switch valve

You can bypass the valve. I think yours has the plastic line, so the easy way is to get a splicing kit for the two sizes at the parts store.

I should have added that the bypass of the valve is my favorite place for installing another fuel filter. If your truck has sat for any time there is probably a fair bit of junk in the bottom of the tank, which starts coming out after it is put back in service. Two filters helps keep it from getting to the carb.
