If your truck is not obd2 (check sticker under the hood) this will never be detected by the onboard hardware.

Over 8500k it's more of a blend of I and II, some sensors are in a permanent not ready state because they simply aren't there. It does have an OBDII port. It can really confuse the uneducated "techs"...
