brake issues

i have a 34 ford Model bb i just put new brake liners on the shoes and now the drum will not go on. if i tighten the the hub down it wont turn at all. i have back everything off even taken the linkage pin out but still will not move... please need ideas

Welcome to FTE.

Back in the day shoes were "arc ground" after new linings were put on. This would grind the linings down to the diameter of the drums. This turned out to be a really unhealthy idea since most brake lining material contained asbestos.

Please post pictures of the backing plate with the shoes installed.
