Aftermarket wheel torque

Aftermarket wheel torque
I purchased American Racing ATX artillery rims and put them on my truck myself. Per instructions torqued to factory specs of 150-165. Recently had new tires installed by a local off-road shop and they torqued them to 115ft lbs because they stated that the aftermarket rim has a conical seat and will damage the rim if it's torqued to the factory value. Thoughts?

If you mean lug nuts, I believe so. Tirerack knows what vehicle they're sold for and they've been holding for the last 6 months no issues. If you mean the lugs on the truck they better be they're factory and for 12 years they've been on that tight.

If the manufacturer says go with factory specs then I would stick with that since it has been working for you so far.
