Thanks Pawpaw. Hit the Nail on the Head, That's it! Looks like I'm not the only one with it like that. Sorry about the post I should have did a search first.
I split and applied a short section of old hose held in place with cable ties, to offer up extra rub through protection on mine, its still ok & hasn't worn through 7 years later.
