hubcap question?

Will 1993 f250 4x4 hubcaps fit 1997 F250?

I assume so but thought I read on this forum that certain types do and some don't.

thanks
JT

More specifically, will this pre 1994 16" hubcap of a 4x2 fit a 1997 F250 16" rim on a 4x4? Are 16" rim size hubcaps universal and the centercap just punches out to go over the 4x4 hub? Not sure of the hub sizes or hubcaps sizes of these respective years/models. Thanks for any opinions.

The only issue you will run into is the full floating rear axle on the 97. Make sure it has the deep center to clear the axle hub

thanks DB. The 94's do have deep recess. I half heartedly tried one and it does not want to seat completely to the rim. I will try tomorrow with better light and when I find a rubber mallet. I do notice the 97 and 94 hubcaps have a different fastening style...not sure if that will matter. Dumb question - is the outer ring of all these steel rims all the same? I can't imagine they would differ such that a different rim necessitates a different clip style for the hubcap ...though nothing surprises me anymore

The factory caps like the one in the pic don't go all the way up against the rim. There is about a 1/8" gap between it and the rim. The aftermarket ones go all the way up against the rim and sometimes actually recess down inside the rim. They are, however, junk. The center s fall out after only a few bumpy roads and the fake lug nuts come loose real quick.

Thanks for the insight. Even after rapping mine pretty hard, I can't narrow the gap below a 1/4 of inch. Just doesn't look right, drats!
