i just recieved a delay wiper system, switch, harness and black box from a 1986 Fseries and have put it into my 1982 F150 previously w/o delay wipers, high speed works, but low and the delay does not work, i hooked up the extra ground wire, and its still not working, what could the problem be?
I added delay wipers from an '83 F150 into my '83 F100 and it was "plug and play"... they worked just fine. Plugged in the unit to the existing wiring harnes, hooked up the ground and bada-bing, bada-boom.... delay wipers!
I can't see that there would be a difference between an '86 and an '82 delay unit. Maybe the unit has a problem... did it work in the '86 before it was removed?
i dont know if it worked or not, i got it off ebay, also, only hi speed on my wipers work, and they will not "park" at the bottom of the windshield when turned off, i was reading on previous threads that this could be the motor?
If it won't park, I suspect the switch in the motor. I had a problem with the wipers on my Taurus that wouldn't park and it was the park switch on the motor, not the motor itself.
