This was installed by a previous owner on my truck.

I think it is some sort of fuel controller, it's a small rotary switch that has 5 positions. The previous owner told me it was

1) OFF/oem/ford-from-the-factory
2) 20% more fuel
3) 40% more fuel
4) 60% more fuel
5) safety-mode, injector disable

On the first setting the truck feels sluggish and slow. Second setting, truck power feels much more responsive. Third setting, lots of black smoke coming out of the tail pipe. Fourth setting, truck bogs in low gear and feels sluggish.

Can anyone identify this and is it just a fuel controller or does it also adjust ignition timing to account for load etc. Thx I am a tuner and have never seen this before.

Anyone? This truck is unhealthy!

It needs love and I don't know exactly how to stroke it to give it the proper TLC it needs and I can't afford for it to go down and need a full rebuild. My business partner's truck puked the other day, driveshaft spins, rear axles don't (OH ISHT!) -- and if my truck breaks we are totally dead in the water.

Can anyone identify this unit? I'm installing a few gauges soon so I can keep an eye on things (ECT, EGT, Boost, Battery, Oil temp/pressure, basic stuff).

Did an oil change today (good lord the oil was in sad shape) -- just replaced the water pump at 188k miles, radiator hoses, thermostat etc.. I need to figure out what power chip programmer unit this is so I know how hard it is beating on my engine.

Anyone? Paging... paging... paging... someone has to know more about this than me...

No clue.But I would try to post one of the box
that goes with it. A know shot is not much to
go on. YES I did say **** SHOT and box to
go with it. I am one bad puppy.

I think what Yahiko is trying to say is you may have to remove it from the dash so that we can see what the entire thing looks like, otherwise it just looks like a rotary switch installed in your dash.

 

I hear that loud and clear. Will try to get more in depth this week and get a shot of the unit itself.
