I took my 6.0 crew cab 4x4 to the track last week and I was very impressed along with all the gas ricers. I ran a very respectable 15.7 @ 89mph with only the exhaust and Cat off. So if some kid pulls up next to you in his honda and rev's his engine at you, be not afraid, hammer down and wave out the back window
SEE YA!!!!!
Well to get the best launch i needed traction so that is why i had it in 4x4 otherwise it would just spin the rear tires down the track.
And why power brake and spool up the turbo, to get the most power off the line, creating almost full boost with the 4x4 its like being shot out of a canon.
You misunderstood. I ment why period? Taking a 4x4 crew cab psd truck to the track makes about as much sence as putting a hitch on my mustang and seeing how much I can tow...............................why?
psdwanabe; So you know what performance level it is. And going to the track is the only accurate to know. As they say, the chrondikes don't lie. (that is the company that makes the timing systems at about 99% of drag strips). It isn't stupid, just fact gathering about your vehical.

Unless you reprogrammed you comp. then i bet you just slowed it down by removing those things. A 15.7 is very impressive for a 8,000lb vehicle.
Do those trucks really weigh 8,000 lbs.? 15.7 isn't bad. Another 2 seconds and you'll be as fast as a Mustang GT I wonder if racing a new truck voids the warranty
I could only get 86 out of mine. (5spdAuto, 3.73 w/ltd slip). I ran the 1/4 out of curiosity. I have been around diesels since the 350 block conversions of the late 70's-I remember when it took 60 seconds to get to 60mph (literally)! It's amazing to see (and drive) an engine that can now out-perform 85% of the vehicles on the road, and still get acceptable fuel economy.
Thanks all for the support on running my truck. I am a racer and will always be a racer. I have my f350 for my Biz and like a few of you have said, i wanted to see what it could do. Now I have the itch back to go even faster w/ it. If i had a semi or 911 i am still going to have fun with it. Otherwise its not worth it.
PSWANTABE Lighten up and have fun, go out and tear up so imports....... I will let you borrow my truck
