EGR Delete grey smoke

Posted here last week. Just had an EGR delete, new oil cooler, blue spring upgrade, turbo cleaned with SCT tuner. Truck is running great but I am still getting light gray smoke when taking off from a stop. No codes. I put 600 miles on it since the work has been done.

Any ideas?

Yeah it started doing it right after all the work was done. Before the work was done it had a lot of black smoke taking off and turbo lag. I Posted on here about it a week ago and the feedback I got was that it needed to relearn, and there were some things to do to help that, the mechanic did those things before I picked it up.

He said that my turbo had been dusted, due to the bullydog intake. I put my stock one back one. He has a spare turbo he will try next. Just seeing if there were other ideas out there.

Thanks,

Another turbo sounds like a good start, he should have noticed end play if the shaft and seal were bad.

Is greayish smoke lean / fuel issue in most cases? It smells like diesel, not coolant.

With an EGR delete, on acceleration you may be getting some grey smoke. What do you monitor the motor with, can you tell what boost your achieving? If you are able to hit 26 or so PSI, then I don't think the turbo necessarily is a problem. but you may want to check cold and hot side CAC tubes and boots and check for cracks or leaks which reduce your boost. You may also want to check for codes, and check and clean EBP, tube, MAP tube, MAF sensor and IAT2 sensors to be sure these are all responding properly. Another potential boost issue is the VGT actuator on the turbo. I just went through a hole issue with EGR valve and cleaned all these sensors and now I have a new EGR valve and am surprised at the improved overall performance and responsiveness on the throttle. Just a bunch of suggestions, your experiences may vary.
