Hopefully having the Fuel Pressure gauge will show you the issue. When it bucks, does it hiccup like it cuts out on all cylinders or does it just stumble a little like maybe one or two cylinders are cutting out on you? Any vibration noticeable when it does this?
Feels like just one cylinder misfire. No vibration that I have felt.
Oh yea..that's right!! Except I'm gonna be the lone stock injector survivor in the crew :-(
Haha Aaron! What's your secret? Mine have who knows how many miles on them. Was told they were replaced at 160,000, but I took that with a grain of salt. I was planning on Stage 1s this winter, so I hope they will be ok until then. I was sort of hoping they weren't the issue, buuuuuuuut.....
Pure unadultrared dumb luck...it goes with me since I'm dumb. I have no history before 264000 mi when my buddy bought it. I'm living on borrowed time...gonna do gp and injector o-ringd here soon.
I'm at 330000 now and have actually driven it enough this summer to need an oil change lol
Well, I finally got it all done, checked each bank...results:
Pass side F to R--3.2/2.9/2.9/3.2
Driver side F to R--2.9/2.9/3.2/3.0
Unplugged each bank just to see and they are all operational...time to start putting some $$ together for injectors I think. I am also planning in doing a Super Duty HPOP. Hell maybe I'll just get the SD instead...LOL
Everything else looked good. Also put a new HPX line in this week. I am almost to full bolt-on status...LOL Ruby is running pretty good but the issue comes and goes, hot or cold. When it runs good, wow it runs good, but when it misses and stumbles, it's no bueno.
Cumon Byron..all this SD talk....as they say...once you go...you can't come back... I have an f-sd I'm working on for a towing co.two injectors ohmd at 1ohm....I think we found the problem!
I know I know! I do hear ya and love my truck, but for what mine needs for towing dependability and stress free driving, I could put a size able down payment on a 99-2000 and have a bit better building platform. At this point I need injectors, trans swap, IC, HPOP upgrade and it goes on and on. I am thinking pretty heavily about it this week. I start grad school in Jan and will not have a ton of time to be doing projects, etc....just gotta weigh it all and see what's best. I'll be back doing the horse thing full time too so my time will be about like Travis and Bill's!! Lol
Then you will need frx ,stix, bigger fuel pump.you will get to have fun with surge issues also. Have fun.I will stick with mine.
And you should stick with yours. You'll have more time and resources than I will to do stuff like that. I will not. I just gotta do what's best for the family and what we are trying to do no matter how cool and awesome my OBS might be. When I am pulling a load of horses to get somewhere, I need to know I will be able to get there without any major issues. I also don't have the cash to do the major things I need to do. At least if I can get a manual, and a better platform for building what I will need, I'll be ahead. Even if my OBS had a ZF to start, I would consider it more for the long haul. We can go back and forth forever about this and I'll lose either way....I knew this before I even mentioned the SD...LOL Hey, at least I am sticking with Ford. I could be looking for a Dodge, or worse, a Douchemax. Give me a LITTLE credit.
Also, try pulling an 11,000# trailer across a desert with high temps in the summer and pulling over to get diesel only to see ATF pouring out of the trans and no idea where its coming from. Try doing that as well with your wife and 3 year old daughter in tow as $$ signs flash before your eyes of what a new, decently built E4OD costs and the fear of not getting your family home. When you do that and know you will have to do it more in the future, let me know if that really awesome OBS is looking good then. I am not saying this truck sucks...it doesn't. It is tough as ***** to do what it did these last two long Texas trips, and that is a consideration in the decision making process. BUT...relatively stress free driving when pulling heavy trailers is priceless. I have done it too many times and long enough to know. Just ask Glenn...haha
I'll give you credit, LOL. I can see where your coming from but if I can say this, to move up to a SD will cost you more in the long run. BUTTTT, I can also see the time factor of school and work. Its a tough one Byron, good luck!
