I actually talked to a Beemer-driving woman last night and told her about this thread. She agreed that Beemer drivers are rude, and used the excuse that Beemer drivers are usually "busier" than other people and "need" to take the right of way because they are usually on their way to "someplace important." She "had to" cut "slow people" off sometimes. I asked her why she thought she had the right-of-way on a public highway and her response was, "Who do you think PAYS for the highway, Honey?" I thought she must be joking, but now I don't think she was.

Rocky: I think you found the ultimate truthful beamer driver. She sums up, in her responses to you, the essence of what this thread is all about. She actually thinks she is better than most everyone else because she thinks she is busier than everyone else. She looks down upon "slow" people (ie safe people) because she thinks she, and she alone, owns the road.
This attitude, that she reveals in her conversation to you, best illustrates the root cause of highway accidents. She probably will either perish in a crash, or will cause others to die, because of her reckless attitude toward driving. It is pure selfishness. The typical image of the typical BMW owner. It generally appears to be correct. It is a shame that such people only will learn, through their own tragic mistakes and worse, by the consequences they inflict upon others.
