Howdy Ya'll. It's sure been a while since I have been on here. I am at a point that I need help with my truck, and once again, I am turning to you guys!
93 F250 5spd 4x4 Ex Cab - power everything.
Issues - Headlights, no running lights and no brake lights. Dome light comes on. Here is what I have done so far:
Replaced multi-function switch
Replaced headlight switch
Wired brake lights direct, now they obviously work.
I have checked fuses and found none bad. I am lost and so frustrated with this truck.
Is there someplace that sells complete wiring harnesses for our trucks? Engine, frame and cab?
You can get a new plug for the headlight switch. Thay commonly overheat and fail. You're most likely going to have more time and money in replacing the harness than diagnosing and fixing your truck.
Well if I could diagnose and fix I would, hence just swapping parts is easier...maybe. LOL I am just frustrated. Even before this the truck keeps eating batteries. I can't keep them charged unless I drive it every day. I do not know what is draining them. I am thinking that if I find the problem with the lights I might find that problem is causing multiple problems.
If you wanta keep throwi g parts at it Id try.the.headlight switch connector next. Should be available local and very well couldfix the parking lights. I doubt it will effect brake.lights
Did you visually check fuses or probe the back with a testlight? A bad fuse can look good, especially the lower amp ones.
Test light method is if you have power on one side you should have it on the other of thw.fuse
