My 1st post!

I have a 96' Mazda B3000 4x4 - 3.0L I think I made a good purchase. I have always wanted a small truck like this. But, it needs a little work. Looking forward to fixing it a bit. But, I'm no pro. So, I'm hoping u will all help an old Lady out. LOL

Welcome to FTE.
Is your 3.0L a flex fuel model????

Be sure to visit this forums "Tech Info" thread atop the forum thread index page, as there is a lot of good repair & maintenance info there. While there scroll down to the "Miscellaneous" section & you'll find a link to a 3.0L Tech Info thread put together by long time member Rockledge, that you'll likely find informative about your 3.0L.

The 3.0L if maintained as specified by Ford, with fluids & parts that say they meet or exceed Fords specifications, will likely work real good & last a looooong time!!!! So look in your owners manual for the scheduled replacement maintenance items, like fluids, spark plugs, wires, ect & bring the vehicle up to date on All past & present due scheduled maintenance call outs. If you can come by its past maintenance & repair records, you can probably get a good idea where to begin.

A lot of info has been posted about our Rangers & answers to most questions can be found by utilizing a forum search, or a visit to the Tech Info thread, but don't hesitate to post any questions you have about your ride & the forum will try to offer up sound suggestions.

What he said...check out the technical articles here and on the Ranger Station website...then go through your truck slowly, making whatever repairs/upgrades seem do-able and affordable. Keep it tuned well and feed it good fluids and tires and it'll carry you a long ways. Welcome to the forum.

If you don't have an owner manual, to check the maintenance schedules, specified fluids, capacities, filters, spark plug type, ect, you can down load the owner manual at no cost, by entering the asked for vehicle particulars here. Owner Manuals | fleet.ford.com
Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the welcome.

I will check our the maintenance tips. Right now I' m struggling with the throttle cable. Ford has one but it cost $100. To $200. That's if u can even find some who sell's it. I have now ordered a universal throttle cable to replace the old one. I hope it's gonna work. Can't see paying thay much for it. Flyin by the seat of my pant's here.

Congrats on the truck. Good luck with the throttle cable - a salvage yard would have probably been my first check.
