No reason to apologize tanman, better to be absolutely sure !

I find it difficult to communicate through a keyboard myself, sometimes.

Did your current D60 experience catastrophic failure? They're fairly easy to work on unless you need a new ring and pinion gear setup.

We still driven it. Has a lot of noise coming from the rear end. When I bought the truck I checked the rear end oil and it was empty and I fixed the problem what cause no oil. But between the noise a vibration it needs to get fix and tired of the noise. Just don't know how much long its going to last.

Also ck the drive shaft u joints condition (they can cause vibration too), ck the pinion for play (there is a bearing in there, and a wheel bearing going bad can cause noise too.

Yes a no oil situation in the rear caused by a bad seal can reak havoc on a ring and pinion.

Use caution if still driving it, when and if it decides to suddenly quite on you, it might just lock up, and that is no fun at 55 MPH....

And absolutely NO need to apologize, wish I had a better answer for you in the beginning.

Thanks for the help 77&79. I have had my truck almost 2 years. So yea I need to do something with it. I bet it wont be any fun if it locks up. It wasn't any fun when the oil pump locked up at 55

Depending on just what is going out in it, it could lock up or....grenade itself?

If you have had the truck 2 years with that noise and it has not went out yet, I'd drive it.

That doesn't look good. We keep it 55mph and lower. If you go faster it get load and vibrates bad

Are you sure its not a rear d/s u joint, wheel bearing, brake shoes dragging, e brake parts loose in the drum.

Have you popped the read dif cover and looked at the ring gear and gear oil condition? Metal flakes, looks like glitter in it??

Is the pinion nut tight?
