Buying a 6.0 most likely a 2005.
Hello,
A brief history about me is that I owned a 2003 F 250 Lariat 6.0 for 6 years and it was the best truck I've ever owned. PERIOD It was always a trust worthy truck and pulled or pushed what ever I needed and had a 60HP tune from the day i bought it 32 K miles till sold it 122 K miles. I made the mistake of trading it in for a gasser but that's another story.
Needless to say I want another Ford Super-duty 6.0 4x4 chassis and would like to know of some things to look at so I don't buy some else's problems. For example anything specific for bad motor or parts, what to buy for testing the motor, cylinder heads, injectors etc. I've browsed the tech section and have some great things to look at from the threads but I'm more interested in a Senior tech/6.0 vet who knows the in's and outs of the Ford 6.0 diesel that would be willing to chat or email me the "really important list/and things to look for. I would also be willing to pay someone within the area (chicago burbs) to look at the truck with me or for me before I buy it . I'm not sure where the truck will be bought from but when looking at a 9 year old truck I need to find one south of the salt belt or in an area not known for winter salt use. I am open to thoughts and suggestion. Thank You
