I found a new oil leak on my motor coming from the driver side. It looks like it's leaking from this black part that I dont know what it is. It's right under the driver exhaust manifold, it's cylindrical looking that runs about the length of the exhaust manifold. I can take pics if this doesnt make sense. Thanks
Be carful with the front bolts. They go into the timing cover. Make sure the holes are clean. If oil is trapped in them you could crack the cover and that means you learn how to pull a engine.

That would suck, I'd have to kick myself in the nuts if I do that
When I did my oil cooler rebuild, I did not take off the front piece. I just removed the rear oil filter housing. There is a video on you tube (a dealer tech did the video).
My truck is a 1995 2 wheel drive, if yours is 4 wheel drive you might have to take the front off.
I used Vaseline to lube the o rings and a short pry bar to push the cooler back together.
When the cooler came off the oil pressure relief valve came out and I had to re-stake it back together. On the early '95's thats the way they were built. The later ones are held together with a "c" clip.
