There is a 62' Galaxy in our local wrecking yard. While checking out its coolness, I noticed that it has hand cranks to open the vent windows. Was thinking it may be kinda cool to adapt to our dents. What do you guys think???
I wouldn't do it. The main advantage of wing windows is to turn them in at a 135 degrees so that they blast air toward you as you move forward. They're a big advantage if you don't have A/C.

They still turn in, just with a hand crank instead of manually pushing them open. They do not roll down, they function the same.
Even better some of the old thunderbirds had electric versions that rotated electronically. Could you imagine the coolness of being able to remotely power the passenger side wing window.
While you're at it add one click auto down/up from a later truck and the power rear window from a Sport-Trac. The sport track one cause it has both and auto up/down and a one click to a about 3" opening.
If your super cool, I dig parking wipers. I got a grand marguis that parks I've been eyeballing the parts from.

In that case, I agree; I think it would be super cool.
Please actually do it. We need more cool project threads around here. Too many "Hey has anybody put a turbo/diesel/4.6L/AOD in one of these trucks? I think I'm going to do it," then nothing.
A lot of the old cars made in the 1930s came that way until they wanted to build them cheaper . My 35 chevy is that way and you can crank them about 60 degrees bringing in a lot of air. They can't be opened from the out side with out breaking them. They will close up much tighter too with the crank , i would like them on my truck.____JIM

For the sake of the forum, I will do it. I have a spare door I can try it on first.
