Disconnected hose

While replacing a fuse under the hood (yeah, just what we needed, a $4.76 fuse to a 12 volt accessory outlet. Seriously Ford?), I noticed the small hose was disconnected from the back of radiator fluid overflow bottle. Reattached it.

Noticed another hose with an opening that seems to go nowhere.

What is it? Do I need to be concerned about it?

hose routing around the degas bottle

hose connections from behind the degas bottle

right behind the degas bottle

Here are some pics of what goes there. It appears to me to be a vacumn line going to just in front of the motor.

I think we've been down this road before. Wingdone's truck is 2wd, and those hoses are related to the vacuum operated hubs, which are connected on Senix's 4wd truck..................................In the current times of cutting cost, I'm amazed they are there on the 2wd trucks.

After seeing all those hoses, I was wondering if that could be the reason.

I re-removed the small hose from the tank, based on Senix truck, it doesn't look like that is what it is supposed to be connected too.

Any help? Should that small hose be connected to the nipple on the tank?

BTW, thanks for the input guys. Appreciated.

That nipple if for the vacumn to operate the 4x4 system. My old truck was a manual 4x4 system and had that. It was just disconnect and sitting there.

It has no effect either way since you are 4x2.
