Missing hose??

Missing hose??
It's an 88, and today when I looked at the radiator, I noticed for the first time that below the overflow hose is a place for another hose. It that normal? Is it normal for it to go nowhere? And where does the overflow hose go? Mine seems to disappear below the winshield washer tank. (No I'm not confusing the washer hose with the overflow hose)
