I've been a member of FTE for a while, but never had a Ford truck. I just got a 2000 Ranger 3.0 V6 with 4WD. It's got a little more than 100K on the clock but is it pretty good condition. I appreciate all the good stuff here in this section. Hope to make a contribution when I can.
Thanks Phoskins. Between farming in Franklin and Osage Co's and working at being retired, my truck will get a workout. It's pretty simple: no electronic locks, windows, or key fob.
Welcome to the Ranger & B-Series forum. Be sure to visit the "Tech Info" thread atop this forums thread index page for good trouble shooting input on problems. Scroll down to the "Misc" section & you'll also find a 3.0L Tech Info link put together by longtime member Rocklrdge, just for the 3.0L engine, that you'll likely find helpful.
Yes it is. The paint was pretty faded and I've put a good coat of polish on it. The wheels have some rusts spots, and it has that familiar "shudder" when you engage the clutch. It seems to be getting decent mileage.
My last truck was an '84 Nissan KC with 4WD, 5speed, and the Z24 motor. It was a good little truck, but can't compare with the Ranger. We rebuilt the Nissan; body work, front end, and too much other stuff to mention here. It will hopefully find a good home.
OK, good feedback. The flex fuel 3.0L takes special heat range spark plugs, special fuel injectors & has a % ethanol sensor, that clues the computer about the % ethanol in the fuel, so it can adjust fuel injector squirt time & spark, to keep fuel trim & combustion under control. So be sure to visit the 3.0L Tech Info page for some insightful input on your flex fuel 3.0L.
