Hah,
Im just reading the aug 2003 four wheeler mag, and theres some article about some guys homebrewed concoction for gettin them rusty what-have-you outa there.
Get a bottle or dish soap squirt bottle clean 'er out. Fill half with kerosene and half with good gr. atf. Says it works like a charm.
Ill have to try it out.
OUCH!!!! I'll try anything once, as long as it doesn't hurt! Then, maybe twice!
The PB Blaster- Is that "Peanut Butter" in a shot gun? Just kidding.
OK longview1, Let us "normal" folks know how the recipe works out. Thanks.
We could just about open a whole "rusted bolt" forum.
BTW..... I notice there seem to be lot of posts about rusty oil pans or something like that. How is that happening? I don't think I've seen that..... although it wouldn't surprise me to see a chinese aftermarket pan rust out like their craptastic rocker covers!
That pan is exposed to all of the road salt, gravel, debris, and everything the body is exposed to and more, plus it rarely gets washed so what's to wonder about???
I have heard a lot of guys talk about a product called "mouse milk" and they all swear by it for loosening rusty things. I have never used it myself.
I did have a guy give me an aerosol can called Yield that worked great but when I went to get more I found out it cost $12 a can.

Even we don't get that kind of rust here from our beaches, although the roofs sometimes rust badly if the paint fails..... seems all our salt comes from up above.

...No wonder it cost $12....Do ya know how many mice it takes to fill a can...?
I havent found any rusty bolts yet to try that trick so im not sure how it works. And if i do i probabluy wwont try it b'cause i have neither any atf or kerosene and im to lazy to get em.
cheers guys
