215 and 223 head

HELP!!!!!!!!!! will a 223 (1954) head go on my (1953) 215 block ???? I've had my old head repaired twice, my casting repair shop is giving up on me.

Sorry, I have no answer to your question, and a good guess is there are not many in this section (87 thru 96) that will know....

I would suggest you try your question here 1948 - 1956 F1, F100 & Larger F-Series Trucks - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums that is the section covering your model years..

The 215 and 223 share the same basic architecture so the answer is yes it will fit.

I believe the 215 was introduced in '52… the previous engine was a flathead 6.
