Is there a reason that the Gearbox Z wouldn't work with the turbo actuator wire pulled?
BTW beautiful truck!

That is really hard to say, I don't know much about that system, but I do know that with the spartan tuner, the turbo actuator disconnected triggers the engine light on some tunes, and not on others.
It would really depend on the specific tune.

Bear with me; I'm new to the 6.4L. Why do you pull the turbo actuator wire?

You come out here for work?

Yeah it still makes boost, but acts kinda like the turbo is too big, as it takes longer to spool.
Around 100 km/h, theres like 3-5 psi of boost, and the EGT's are fine.
With it plugged in, there was 7-20 psi of boost.
If you floor it, the boost builds up just fine, but not as quick as with it plugged in.

Downsides of unplugged, smokey idle when winter temperatures,
laggy acceleration.
It won't boost hard under 2000 rpm.

I dont mind the way it runs, but with a different tune it could probably have super high EGT's and massive smoke problem. I'm using the tow tune.

Gotcha. I just picked up a 6.4L yesterday so I'm getting to know them now.

hey parkland...you live n. of the border? your mileage sounds great but if you are using imperial gallons instead of u.s. gallons on converting liters your true mileage will be out. just cant see a 6.4 giving almost double the milage of reg. tuned trucks ....but if you are...good for you.

I have found this thread useful. I just got my 6.4 a month ago. It's also a 2008 (F250 Super Cab 4x4).

I've never had a diesel before, so this is all new to me. I'd like to play with it to improve performance, but I'll wait until I get the heck of California.

Yeah, Bubba-

Just sayin the smog laws passed by the State are pretty restrictive. We're planning to retire soon, and move away.
