Shifter Sticking
Hello all,
I have a 1996 4.9 L6 5spd. I have noticed that when i shift from first to second that it is rough.. almost like its getting caught on the edges of the gear box. Does anyone have any suggestions on what it might be or how it can be fixed? Please let me know if ya got any info. thanks

But in case you're not - the typical Mazda 5-speed in these trucks is full of ATF fluid that goes bad. There is also a magnet on the drain plug that gets coated with a thick layer of metal-slurry-gunk.
Change early, change often - keep full... & try a fully synthetic ATF if you want it to last longer.
