I'm looking at used Expeditions. Everything from a 99 to a 2005. Were there any bad years that I should avoid?
Do the 5.4 spit plugs?
They've been known to if not torqued correct. Threads were just too short in the cylinder head and over tightening is as big an issue as under torquing. Always use anti seize when changing out.
Also, the 2005, 3valve heads, had split plugs which can break into pieces and create havoc to remove. Many threads on that issue here with remedies.
If 2005, just make sure the plugs were changed with the newer 1 piece type.
