Oil Friction Modifier - do you use one?
#16
"First a decrease in turbo boost, then loss of power and hard starts. Your oil pressure drops; you experience hesitation, idling, and excessive black smoke. Your lifetime fuel mileage decreases. Severe cases of stiction are often misdiagnosed as “failed” injectors."
The above is according to your website.Furthermore, the website attributes "stiction" to "gummy residue". Huh?
Try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stiction as per wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stiction
I never experienced any of that with my 6.0
Yet the AR9100 made a world of difference terms of making the engine run much quieter.
As for Opti-Lube (fuel additive) - there is a well know white paper study on that product and it has been shown to provide superior lubricity in fuels.
But, again, that is a "fuel" additive and this post is regarding oil additives of the nanoborate type.

While you are correct in that "stiction" as referred to in the chem lab is static friction, the diesel industry (including Ford and International) also call the carbon deposits left by burnt oil "stiction." These deposits builds up on the spool valves in the 6.0 HEUI injectors, some trucks have more issues than others, but it was a fairly common problem. The best thing for the injectors on the 6.7 is a lubricating fuel additive, because it is a common-rail injector.
