Just picked this up fresh off the farm. 60k miles on the original 216 with 102 HP and 4 speed. Entire truck is original except it is now 12v.do I keep it original or hot rod it?

Original trucks are hard to find now a days. I would vote for keeping it original.

Oh, what gearing do you have on the rear? If it is too high you might want to think about changing it out to get you a little more speed.

I'd say keep it looking stock. I personally will do minor upgrades such as halogen headlight bulbs. Your truck should have a 223 Ford six cylinder (216 is actually a Chevrolet engine displacement). Depending on how big a change something is, I will also add vintage after market equipment such as a vintage Stat turn signal setup or a Brown-Lipe auxiliary transmission.
