I'm attempting to get a used replacement cowl/water shield for my 2001 E350 xl super duty. However searching for the name of part or part number it is confusing.
The part I need is the black plastic trim which spans the width of the top of the hood and is at the bottom of the windshield. It covers the wiper motor, linkages etc.
Looks like previous owner replaced wiper motor and didn't own a screw driver when removing the cowl. Just cracked in in several pieces.
Thanks for the information and tip Wildman25. Since yesterday was a holiday, I welded up the ABS plastic cowl vent screen with my plastic welder while a look for a replacement.
Many thanks again. Just got back from the bone yard and got the entire cowl vent screen for $20! Put some McGuires back to black on it and it looks new! Also grabbed a couple of other items like cigar lighter and the ash tray on the tunnel hump.
Also my replacement radio I snagged on eBay for $20 just arrived. The digital display wasn't working on the in the van.
Needed the retaining clip that holds the wiper motor to the linkage...dealer wanted $15.00 for it plus it wasn't in stock. Got that at the bone yard too ....for nothing.

That's exactly why cargo pants with deep pockets were invented..........
Not sure of the difference between the two bone yards, but it suppose to be the biggest in Michigan. They drive you in a beater out to the vehicle you want parts from and then remove it for you. I guess you can call and they'll do it for you if they knew exactly what you wanted. But then you can't fill your pockets with other odds and ends.
Next projects are replacing the clock spring in steering column and to figure out why I have no AC in rear of van just blowing hot air.
Sounds like the junk yard you went to is a "u-pick - They-pull" yard
Got to be better than the pick-n-pull here, with people just cutting off wires, when there is a connector that just pops apart, or busting the trim apart just to pull the radio.........
