September has rolled in while we were sleeping, so now it is time to wake up and smell the end of Summer.

You sure about that Jim? Looks like we hit 95* today. Closing house up and setting thermostat at 68* shortly.
Have a frozen glass to look forward to later.
Good day gents,,,,,,,,,

Well, TECHNICALLY summer is not over, since it is supposed to be 105 here today, but I figure if I keep saying it is the end of summer, maybe the weather will believe it and cooperate.

i always think of that office max or office depot commercial where the christmas song, "…its the most wonderful time of the year…" is playing and they're skipping through the store filling up the cart with school supplies 'cause their kids are back to class…haha.

september. man alive. lots of birthdays in my realm of friends and family this month.. any on here? hoping for a message this month (towards the third week) in regards to my raise/advancement. i mean, potts'boy needs money to buy all these folks gifts!!

Tired of the heat myself, but have no lawn to mow, just some pesky weeds to attack with the weed eater, however, I'll wait until it cools down some.

No plans for me to go to Ocktoberfest

count me in obviously as I`ll be carting some kegs over. Secret is after unloading kegs move further away so you can get out, traffic wise.

Well, I looked at the 10 day weather forecast wrong. Today's high was "only" 99, tomorrow it is supposed to be 103. The only day of the 10 that is over 100 degrees. So, I will be feeling much better by Wednesday, when the high will be 98.

Tuesday should drop slightly here and weds on for a week it will hover around 88*, so they say. Boiling bear fat and dripping over a maple leaf while counting the seconds is more accurate than these pinheads (excuse me, weathermen on TV)

Only job where you can be wrong every day and not get fired.

These fire predictors arent much better. We've been evacuated 5 days now and the fire hasn't gotten any closer. Just been really inconvenient getting home...

if you guys watch the news tomorrow morning… that car was totaled by the am track train. we all neighbors ran outside knowing the train hit something then hit the brakes. i grabbed my flashlight and ran down the tracks where the impact occured thinking maybe someone was ejected or the other half of the car was still at the intersection… nope. just car parts. the engine, a wheel, two headlights, the battery… fluids sprayed everywhere. the car was smashed to the front of the train..

what a mess.
when you approach the tracks, for crying out loud, look both ways…
it was a fully loaded am track probably doing 50mph or so. they scream by our place.

Unreal... You would think people would be smarter than that. I could not find any news reports on that Amtrak incident, but when searching the local news website, found two separate incidents where a car collided with an Amtrak train this weekend.

NVM, I did a Google search and found the one in Oakland.

i think i have all the req'd tools for a power steering pump flush this weekend to include installing an inline filter. i managed to finally score a 2-1/2 ton heavy duty floor jack from CL for only $75. in great condition too!
still in the market for jackstands and a matching spare rim w/a BFG… but for now, slowly putting things together! saturdays project, power steering.
