I have a steering issue that comes and goes.

It started after I was driving down a dirt road and hit a pothole pretty hard... I heard what sounding like metal snapping near the left front tire.

Now when I am driving, usually after a sharp corner the steering will have a mind of its own, it feels like the tire is wobbling or something like that making the truck want to do little swerves left and right.

 

I had that problem when i bought my truck. I replaced the steering damper and it seemed to fix it for a little while, but eventually returned. I ended up having to replace the sway bar bushings, and both of the linkages. That corrected the problem completely for me. Also make sure your tires are fully inflated, as lower tire pressures seemed to make it a lot worse for me.

Ball joints? Linkages, steering damper? There is a lot of things to check. Alignment can give you problems too, read up on death wobble, you may have just blown the alignment.

 

Yea might want to check ball joints.

 

friend of mine did that, was one of the steel belts in the tire.
