wiring issue?

Hey guys, today when I got done mowing I went to start my truck and all I got was a click , and all my power shut off. After the power would shut off it would come back on really dimly until you hit the starter solenoid on the fender then the cab light would come on bright. The truck would turn over if you shorted the positive to the ignition point, but will not if you short it to the other lead. We tried changing out positive cables now I have no power at all anywhere, we still measure 12v at the solenoid. Any ideas at all this is driving me crazy

check for power when you crank it. I assume by no power any where it wont even click and no fuel pump no dash lights or anything. how did all the connections look. how fast does it crank
and what engine is in your truck any recent repairs or problems

Corroded connections.

Take apart the connections at the solenoid, clean them with emery paper or anything else scratchy. Clean the battery posts, positive and negative. Put it back together and congratulate yourself on a job well done.

Just put the 302 in it a couple months ago. When you jump the positive solenoid to the ignition nipple it cranks very hard . I will try cleaning the connections at the solenoid but the battery ones are good I believe. I was thinking it might be the fusible links?
