power assist steering?

Hi I have a 73 F150 4wheel drive with power assist steering. I scearched the past posts. I can not find any that have gotten it to work. I like to try to keep things like Henry built it well for the most part. The problem is it has very little assist. I replaced the pump and their are no leeks in the system. Seems like every one has the same problem. I can not believe that ford can sell these trucks when they were new driving like this. So has any one been able to get this set up to work? I have read in past posts that the steering pumps were different. What should the working pressure be? If all else fails I have all the parts to convert it but I want to give it a shot.

Hey guy sorry I can't help you on that but do you know what it takes to convert an f100(1974 4x4) to something that actually works?

Thanks for the reply, I have read several diferent ways of converting it to power steering. I have a 79 power steering box and I am good with a welder. I think I might use the pipe throu the frame method. I thought if I just fix what is their it would be easier. Is their a better way?
