The vacuum advance on my distributor (87 F-350 with 460, Holley 600 4BBL) was bad.
The truck has been running rich and coughing back through the carb. Is this the a result of the vacuum advance being shot? (it would not hold any pressure and I replaced it.) Truck seems to have a lot more pep now.
Also - the instructions said I can adjust this with an allen wrench -how course or touchy is this adjustment? What do you think the total advance change is from the lowest to the highest setting on this thing. I didn't check how many total turns the new one had before I installed it.
The old one did not have a screw in the throat - but it was stamped with a number 10
Thanks for the help
