tailgate cap

Anyone know of a place to order the cap on the end of your tailgate? I was loading my quad in my truck yesterday and ripped part of it off and then while taking the rest off, I tore a lot of the tabs off. Also, bent my tailgate itself a little but nothing a rubber mallet cant fix up!

Any tips on the r&r process? I broke mine too and bristle at the thought of paying the dealer to do the labor?

I have a 2011 F350 with the Flex Step Tailgate. I keep breaking off the ABS Molding pieces. Does anyone know if it is possible to buy metal replacement parts?

I know of no known metal parts. I have not seen anyone in this forum of the 1999-2016 SD/HD forum mention any.

I had a load of lumber slide out of my truck as I pulled away from a traffic light and take the cap with it. (Dang waxed studs)
I ordered a new one from AutoNation White Bear and installed it when it arrived.
It's been a while, But I don't remember it being very hard to replace, Mine was a 2017 with a tailgate step.

I've had to replace both of my plastic end caps as well. They became loose from normal opening and closing of thr tailgate. The problem is not replacing them. The way they are designed to attach to the tailgate on the exterior side is with plastic snap in studs. Over time those studs snap off and the cap becomes loose.

At $40 a piece to replace and knowing they will eventually break again makes one want to find a better solution.

On a side note is the center section that covers the step replaceable? I couldn't find a part number for that piece.

Thanks Larry. It is a real pain. I am a cattle farmer and am constantly hauling hay, so I spend a lit of time on the tailgate. I have had to replace these moldings at least 3 times. Anyway, done complaining now. Thanks for your reply.

That appears to be the center part that attaches to the slide out steps. Correct?

Here is the actual link. The other link posted does not work correctly
