On the Dana 60 differential, the inner (pinion "teeth" end) bearing comes out from the inside and the outer bearing comes off from the outside.
Meaning you remove the pinion yoke, seal and outer bearing , then remove ring gear/carrier, the pinion comes out then you can replace the inner pinion bearing.
If you have the Ford 9" differential, you can remove the pinion with both bearings from the front of the differential. The pinion assembled in a "pinion retainer" and comes out in one piece.

question.
do we have to worry about preload???
and what should the torque be on the nut?
