What tires are you running?
Installing new Michelin LTX M/S 2s and KYB Gas-Adjust shocks all the way around made a huge difference on my 2WD Ex. Very smooth on the highway and around town it does well enough considering the weight and style of the vehicle. Obviously an Excursion is never going to ride like a Cadillac but there are a few improvements that can be made.

They are nitto will have to look when I get to the truck forgot have rear bags on it keep 6 psi in them because it will bottom out if I don't what tire pressure do you keep in your tires and dose that have a big affect if you have played around with it think I'm going to start playing with tire pressure

Tire air pressure is a big factor. I run 55-60 fr/back gives good traction and cornering, but rough on brick streets.
I have michelin ltx ms2 and love them. My former tahoe felt about the same on my brick street, so i just accept it. Rides great on hiway which is where 75%+ of the miles come from.

You can always switch out the rear leaf springs for super duty springs. A B code rear spring would most likely give you the closest to stock height as possible. We sell a good amount of the B codes and customers seem to like the ride and added stability out of them. Send me a message if your interested!
