I just scanned computer & nothing was found. It has stock tires & no aftermarket mods at all. I cleaned cleaned the water fuel separator out yesterday & got all the water, dirt & grime out of it. The digital readout on the dash jumped up to 11.7 MPG's now. Its getting better but I know it can get better. Would it help if I do a muffler delete & keep the cat for now?
The mileage calculator on the truck is not very accurate, hand calculate the mileage. Fill up to full, note the mileage and then drive it. Next time you fill up take the mileage and divide by gallons and see what you get, bet its closer to 13-14.
The muffler mods may net you a gain of 1mpg or so.
The mileage calculator is cumulative average, meaning it's a running total and may take a long time to change by a point or two. Reset the mileage calculator in the truck so it starts fresh and still hand calculate the mileage. Mine reads 13.1 and I know I'm getting 15-16 in town and 19 hyw.
the truck never really warms up in a 12 mile drive, so you are spending most of your time running richer than ideal. I wouldn't be surprised at all with 11 mpg just doing that short a run twice a day. Wait for winter, I bet it drops to around 6 mpg.
i would like to get rid of the whole exhaust to 4-5 inch but really dont have the cash right now. And if i did then i know ill need a sct tuner which that comes into the cash again.
I avg 19.8 MPG in my f-350 6 speed.....I take it real easy in town and also keep it right around 60MPH on the highway, my driving record helps me keep my right foot off the pedal anyways-or else I am handing my license back in
