Coil Spring Problems
I have a 1993 f150 4x4. Last week while I was proudly serving my country at Volk Feild ANGB, my dad drove the truck and experianced a loud pop or snap noise from the driver side wheel well. Now the truck sits low on that side by at least 1.5 inches. All the spring seats are intact and all the steering/ suspension parts look normal to a visual inspection. My best judgement tells me that the spring could have cracked. The truck only has 78k miles. Anyone have a similar problem?

Unless the spring just broke in two something moved. There is a cup on the bottom of the spring that is about 1.5 inches tall. There is a plastic washer then the cup then theres a bracket that runs from the top of the axel housing around the front to bottom. Unless this has come unbolted and spit the cup I don't see how it could sag. The top perch bolts to the frame and wraps around the bottom of the frame if I remember correctly. Just for shins and grins, check the axel housing pivot bushings. They can go bad and cause a thunking sound, but never seen them cause sag like that.
