Shouldn't it be cost of owning an OBS PS. OBS is a well liked platform that is doing a good job keeping it's value. The 7.3 PS can eat a wallet if you let it, but also is legendary and valuable. The point being that given the same condition I'd venture a guess that today in general a 97 F350 CCLB 7.3/4WD is worth the same if not more then a 99 CCLB 7.3/4WD. Taking into account that let's say 5 years ago the 99 cost a lot more and assuming they both cost the same to maintain, you're money ahead with the 97.
