Question

transmission cover

Was just wondering if the transmission cover bolts on this mazda manual tranny (93 explorer) need to be torqued to a certain spec or not. Anyone know?

There is a torque spec for everything. I am not familiar with this transmission. If it is just a cover on the top, it is probably not critical. I would be careful to not over tighten.

OK Then try drivetrain.com or one of the other transmission rebuilder sites. That one has exploded views of many transmissions and they may show the torque specs.

I just checked my set of repair CD's and the torque is 12-16 lb/fts or 16-22 N-m.
