If you

not only

Please refrain from posting images that large.

Just leave a link like there is now.

Think of users on dial-up & smaller screens.

Here is a site you might enjoy.

http://liftoff.msfc.nasa.gov/Academy...ystemJava.html

Here is my favorite. Check the orbits, go to sighting ops, check your city and go outside and watch the space station go by your house..

Thanks, we enjoy the tracker. I set my beeper to go off three minutes before the space station passes overhead and we go outside.

If you haven't taken a good three minutes gaze at the thing, your education isn't complete. It's huge, the Shuttle was very big, you'll have to ask yourself how many times it passed overhead w/o me knowing.

Have you gone on the terra-server and printed out a overhead shot of your house? I have. (My house you tool, not your house!)

XLT, At our altitude, and very clear skies, we have a panoramic view of the ecliptic, clear enough to see Pleades with the naked eye, you can't help but spot satelites. Hale-Bop and Hyakataki (spelling??) dominated the sky. I've chanced to see the shuttle fly over 'once', appearing as bright as a landing light. Now I'll know precicely where and when to look.

Big Bear Solar Observatory is one of the most important due to its location. A telescope is a must here.
